Aero worked before but is no longer working.

Hi !!!
Can anyone help me with a problem I am having with Aero, Aero is not working.
And it is killing me, I didn't buy a new computer so I can have the window displayed in window classic.
When I go to window and color appearance the only choice have is window standard,
window classic, high contrast white, " " " " black, " " " " #2, and " " " " #1, there is no Aero.
I tried searching for Aero in the startup menu but no luck, it is like it disappeared.
The problem first started when I updated my viruses protection.
The next
day I started the computer and Aero was no where to be found.
I tried the system restore but every time I tried it at a different restore point it tells me there was an error and no changes were made.
I also tried the Sfc/scannow on cmd, but after it is completed
it says that there were errors and window was not able to correct them.
I have tried basically everything; I tried changing my resolution on the monitor and refreshing my base score on my computer.
I know for a fact that Aero is capable with my computer because
it was working fine until now.
Is there any way to fix the error on my computer so that it will allow me to use Aero again? Or is there a way I can install Aero without reinstalling the whole system?

This sounds to me like you are having a graphics driver issue! What is the make/model of your graphics card and which drivers do you currently have installed?

If you lookup the manufacturors site and install the latest drivers for your card your problem may be resolved...

In this method we will try to Boot in Safe mode with Networking and see if the error still persists.

Search "MSCONFIG" and Open.
Click on Boot Tab
Tick Safe Boot in Boot Option
Select Network.
Click Apply and OK.
Reboot your System.

Installation of CS6 proceeds smoothly until Microsoft Visual 2010 X86.
It essentiallly makes no progress, estimated time to install climbs to more than 4 hrs.
Spoke to Adobe tech for two hours and made several unsuccessful attempts.
Have Win 7 Prof.
64 bit.

Do you mean two copies of Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 and two copies Microsoft Visual C++ 2010?

If they are exact duplicate i.e.
if both say Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 X86 you may delete one of them.

Note: Repeat the same with Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 X86.

Few programs need Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 and few need Microsoft Visual C++ 2010.

However, some programs get updated to run with the newer version, but it is possible you may have a program that requires the previous version.

Use the System File Checker tool to repair corrupted or missing system files:

Click Start.
Type cmd, and then press CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER to open the elevated command prompt (I.e. Command prompt with administrative rights).
The User Account Control window should appear, be sure that the action it exhibits is correct, and then press the Continue button.
Type or copy paste the below command line into it without quotes:
"Sfc /scannow"

I have Vista Ultimate and IE8.
When I press the "Add to Favorites..." button an icon immediately appears on the taskbar.
However, the dialog box doesn't show up for quite a while - 10 seconds to a minute.
Once the box does appear, there are no more lags. How

Original title: Soud such as ad audio playing for no reason
I keep hearing sounds such as ads playing on my pc.
I get this on and off.
There is no specific app or side that I am accessing when this happens.
I do have X Box that was installed on my computer when I purchased it.
The games that I access on the x Box
are microsoft solitare amd Majhong.
Sometimes when playing these games it f you get to a certain point it asks if you wish to continue, and if you say yest then an ad runs.
They are similar to what I hear.
Can you help me?.
Happened again, as I was finishing my inquiry and I switched over to my Micrsoft internet Explorer and it was the add they were running on my home page.
My ins is Att and my home page is att.yahoo Does this help

I've tried both IE7 and IE8 and simply cannot abide either one, primarily because of the exploded favorites folders list each time I tried to add a favorite. Apparently, this "feature" cannot be undone (to get only the list of
primary favorites, as in IE6, where the folder is exploded only if one clicks on it).
Why is it that Microsoft (or someone else, for that matter) can't develop a browser that is fast, secure, and easy to use and customize to user's preferences with respect to apperance and adding/organizing favorites?

Really, all computers become customized to the owners preferences within a short time...
Probably no two computers on the internet are the same.
I quite like the Favorites Bar of IE8.
Click the Add to Favorites Bar icon (on the left hand side of the Favorites Bar...
note the Favorites bar is actually the renamed Links folder from IE6) and the internet shortcut is added directly to the favorites bar....
You will end up with a list of recently bookmarked web sites at the top of your IE Browser.
Since they were recently bookmarked, they are now in a handy position for you to review.
Also as you type into the Address Bar (with address bar autocomplete turned
on) those recently added bookmarks will be offered as a selection in the Address Bar dropdown list.
Once you have finished with a Bookmark on your Favorites Bar, then simply click the Favorites Center icon to open up the Favorites Center, then drag and drop from the Favorites Bar to a Fovorites Folder of your choice.

Using System Restore

Click on the Start button on the Taskbar.
Type "System Restore" (without quotes) in the Search box and hit Enter or,
Click on System Restore (when you see System Restore pop up in the list of search results).
Make sure the "Recommended restore" radio button is checked on the restore utility window.
Click on Next and follow the instructions given.

Note: There is the option on the restore utility to select "Choose a different restore point". Unless you have a specific reason to select a different date and time than what Windows recommends, just select the recommended option stated in the steps above. If you choose to select another one, follow these steps:

Click on that desired date and time, and Windows 7 will perform a scan for any affected programs in that restore point.

Once completed, click Next and follow the instructions given.

Once you have selected the restore point, your system will start the restoring process, after which you will have to restart the system.

Advanced filter on a different sheet

I have a table which is something like...Region, City, Store, Week, Sales, Year on Year Growth, Rank within City, Rank within Region.
(some of the fields have formulas)

On another sheet, I want to have filters where user can select any region and data matching the filter would be made available on that sheet.
I would also like to give the user the option to sort the 'filtered' data on any of the columns.

Please let know how i could achieve this

From the title of your question, i assume that you know how to use Advanced Filters in MS Excel. So try this

1.
On the other sheet (say sheet2), enter text Region in cell C1. Have assumed that text Region is in your source data table (say sheet1) as well
2.
In cell C2 of sheet2, enter the specific region
3.
Click on any other cell of sheet2 and go to Data > Sort and Filter > Advacned > Copy to another location
4.
In the List range, select the source data range (first row is the header row) in sheet1; and
5.
In the criteria range, select C1:C2 of sheet2
6.
In the Copy to box, select F1 of sheet2

Click on OK.

Default setting is to sensitive. While typing if the thumb comes close to the pad

Open Mouse options from the Control Panel, then look for touch pad options (most laptop makers use Synaptics(tm) brand touchpads, so it will probably be on a tab called Synaptics).

I believe the feature to dampen the sensitivity is called just plain sensitivity.
But there's another setting called "Palm Check" that you can use instead: that lets you keep the sensitivity high so it's easy to use when you want it, but if it detects
a large press (like your palm touching it accidentally) it will ignore it automatically.

Incorrectly editing your registry can stop your PC from functioning and create irreversible damage to your operating system. In fact, one misplaced comma can prevent your PC from booting entirely!
