Attempting to get java run on Windows 8.1, any install for either 32 or 64 bit will not work.

Please advise.  Attempting to get java run, yes I need it.  but any install for either 32 or 64 bit will not work.  I have tried to access the security tabs to allow certain applets for classes, but to no avail.  Horrible Microsoft, absolutely horrible. 
Please help.

2) Do you get any error message/code? If yes, what is the exact error message/code?

If you have any previous version of the JAVA on the computer, then first try removing it completely from the computer and only then you should install the latest one.

If you are using any third party security program then try disabling it and check if that helps.
Method 1: Temporarily disable the third party security program.

I request you to contact the technical support for the security program to temporarily disable it.

In most cases, you shouldn't disable your antivirus software.
