Audio drivers for HP Pavilion dv5215us running Windows 7

I have tried several solutions on other forums that folks have supposedly had success with, but after trying to install several drivers X several different methods, I still have no sound.  HP does not support this machine with anything higher than Vista
64, so...
Any help will be appreciated, because otherwise this machine is a nice Win 7 box.

Have you had a chance to go through HP's article regarding your issue?  In particular there is a section titled “Finding software and drivers for notebooks that HP does not support with Windows 7”

It is the manufacturer’s responsibility to provide drivers for their equipment.

Open Action Center by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, and then, under System and Security, clicking Review your computer's status.
