Solution to Problem: Applying conditional formatting to compare individual cells in a set pattern but not as a group

Applying conditional formatting to compare individual cells in a set pattern but not as a group

Is it possible to apply conditional formatting to check columns A2-413 & B2-413 each against corresponding C2-413 values without formatting one set/row at a time?

Example:
Column C = Loan Amounts.
Column A & B are each separate insurance coverages.

Right now I'm checking that the $A$2,$B$2 < $C$2, so on and so forth for each set A3, B3 & C3 all the way to A413, B413 & C413.

Please let me know if there's an easier way to do this.
Format painter is not working...
it only compares the cells to whatever C* was referred to on the initally highlighted selection.

Thank you!

Hi,

I'm not sure what the (part) formula  $A$2,$B$2 < $C$2 is supposed to be but because you have used absolute references (The $ sign) then the format painter won't work.

What you need to do is create your CF formula using relative references  A2,B2 < C2.
If you do that then when you use the format painter Excel is smart enough to update those references for each row.
