I have a dell windows 7 intel core i5 processor desktop pc.
within the last few days, it get hanged a few times.
today, i switched off the computer to install updated but when i restarted it, it was in safe mode.
i tried to run McAfee security scan
but then they said that Real-Time Scanning is Off.
so i tried to switch it one but it didn't work and so i couldn't run the security scan.
however, they said that my computer is at risk.
so i restored it to a previous date but still it ran on safe mode.
i
restarted it a few more times but then all the icons and the taskbar in the screen disappeared.
actually the screen just became a black screen with nothing on it.
when i restarted it after taking a test that they mentioned, a html window appeared with the
file name 'Administrator: cmd.exe'.
2mins after the screen was left untouched, a screen saver was supposed to come but instead it showed this message: The screen saver can't run because it requires a newer video card or one that's compatible with Direct3D.'
when i click ctrl+alt+del, i can see the reboot options and the taskbar manager option as usual.
so now i'm in a utter confusion of what to do next.
i need to get an answer as soon as possible.
this is the first time i'm having a problem in this computer.
