D drive almost full - what do I do???
Hello,
I have only had my HP laptop since June 2010 and already the D drive says I only have 2GB left (12 are used). I hardly have downloaded anything and don't store much on my computer. That drive is titled recovery and only has one other thing in there other
than a purple hard drive icon with recovery next to it...a file named HPSF_Rep. I get HIGH CPU USAGE warnings from my Norton software everyday which directs me to my D Drive. Why is it full? How do I make it smaller without ruining my computer????

The D: drive is your recovery partition, used if necessary to recover your computer in case of problems.
This drive should not be used for norrmal day-to-day files, and having 2Gb free should be fine.
I would suggest that youmake
a batch of recovery DVD's, if you have a true hard drive failure it will disrupt the D: drive as well as C:.
Boot in Safe Mode:
- Open Run command as previously described
- Type MSConfig
- Click on Boot tab
- Tick Safe boot in Boot option
- Select Network
- Click Apply and OK
- Reboot your system
Your system will boot in Safe mode with Networking. You may now try and open Windows Store and should not see any errors.
